         2nd Week in Madison!!!
                                 March 24, 2014

Hello Family and Friends!!

This past week started off really slow, but by the end of the week we were crazy busy which was really a huge blessing for me. Sister Shelton and I are getting along really well and we really do work well together. Last Tuesday we had District Meeting and we talked a lot about the importance of the Sacrament. We talked about how we are commanded to partake of the sacrament each week. We are commanded to remember our savior and his sacrifice for us and to renew our covenants and in return we are promised blessing from our Heavenly Father. I don't think I had ever really thought of the sacrament as a commandment before but I sure feel guilty now for all the times I missed partaking of it. It’s such a small thing that we are asked to do each week and in return we can receive so many blessings! Why wouldn't we be jumping at the chance to do each week?

A lot of our investigators have been gone or just aren't answering their phones and its been kind of hard our lessons keep being canceled. So Sister Shelton and I have both been praying that we would be able to find someone who is ready and willing to hear our message. On Thursday we decided we were going to stop by a potentials house and see how they were doing. We had been walking quite a ways when Sister Shelton realized that we had turned the wrong way at some point. We were just about to turn around and go back when we saw a guy walking towards us quite a ways up the street. We looked at each other and both knew that we needed to talk to him before we went back. So we started talking to him and he was just so great! His name is Jamal and he was so willing to listen to us and hear what we had to say. He gave us his number and address and we set up a time to go see him! Our appointment is actually with him tomorrow!! I can't even begin to explain what a huge blessing and answer to my prayer that was! I know that Heavenly Father is mindful of us and helped us find J----- that day. We turned the wrong way for a reason that day and I am so thankful that we did! Having that experience has brought us as a companionship even closer!

The little book sharing houses are so fun! They all look like the houses they belong too!

Yesterday we were able to meet an investigator family who's little boy is in the hospital because his finger got cut pretty much all the way off from a table falling on it. (don't worry they were able to save the finger it’s just going to be a bit shorter :) ) The sisters teaching them can’t drive all the way here to the hospital so they asked if we would stop by and visit them. It was so neat to listen to his families’ testimony! They are getting baptized on the 19th and they are just such a solid family. It was so neat to listen to them talk about all the blessing they've seen in their lives since learning about the gospel and accepting it in their lives. Listening to their testimonies helped me to remember why it is that I am out here. I'm here to help others find that same happiness that this family has found through this gospel!! I know at times its going to be really hard but I really am so excited about the next 17 months of my life!

Also real quick so riding the bus is really interesting and I've realized even more how sheltered I have been in Utah... the other day on the bus a guy sat next to me who had a grill that said LOVE.. ha ha I was so close to bursting out laughing when I saw it!  I didn't though so don't worry! I do really love it here though and the Ward is great!! Love you all!!!

Sister Hunter
I'd say this just about covers it wouldn't you.

           WISCONSIN
          She Has Arrived!!!!!!
              March 11, 2014

                                              President and Sister Cutler -

                                                                           March 17, 2014
Hello Family,
Well its official i am in Wisconsin!!! So I've been assigned to the Madison 1st ward so I"m in like the "heart" of Madison I guess you could say. The Capitol building and all that is in my area. Since we are in the city we don't have a car and we have to ride the bus everywhere which kinda sucks but its good at the same time because i'm walking places and not just driving. The bad thing is we have to walk to the store and then walk back holding all our groceries and that's not really fun at all but I'm sure by the time I leave this area my muscles will be really big! ;)

                    Sister Shelton and Sister Hunter

So my companions name is Sister Shelton and she's really sweet but we definitely have very different personalities so that will be interesting., but for the most part we get along really well.
So every morning we get up at 6:30 and then we have till 7:30 to work out; wet hen we get ready for the day and start personal study at 8:30 after which we have comp. study at 9:30 and then 12 weeks (which is like the new missionary training manual to study out of) till 10:30; we do an hour lunch and then head out. We basically just do things each day according to what appointments we have.  Because we are on bus we don't have a whole lot of time to do tracking but we do a lot of street contacting, It's actually really fun. You just start talking to people, tell them who you are what you do, give them a mormon.org card, and then ask if you can pray with them. Most people think your kinda weird but they are willing to do it.
So the President committed all of us new missionaries to extend a baptismal invitation by Sunday and I finally go that last night so that was good. ha ha but the lady we were teaching was Pentecostal, and let us know all throughout the lesson that we were wrong. She actually got kinda mad at us when we talked about God and Christ being two separate beings. So really we probably aren't going to get very far with her but she did say that if she prayed and God told her that she needed to join the Mormon church that she would. She definitely has a lot of faith. So the members here are really great! Most of them are grad students going to the UW, but they are all super willing to help. Every lesson we taught last week had a member present so that was really neat to see. We have a lesson tonight with a potential named Laurie she actually contacted us asking if we could come meet with her so I'm really excited to see how this lesson goes tonight and hopefully she turns into a potential!
Love you lots!!!,
Sister Hunter

IN THE BEGINNING THERE WAS THE......
                            MTC
                               February 26,2014

Hi Family!!
I don't have a whole lot of time to write (this isn't my actual p-day, that will be on Saturdays) but I just wanted to let you know that I am doing great and I am alive! :) The first day was crazy they didn't waste any time jumping us right into business! My companions name is Sister Elkington and I absolutely love her! She is so nice and has the sweetest spirit and we have so much in common it is ridiculous!!!

Sister Hunter and Sister Elkington

The first day about half an hour after we had been here they had us knock on an "investigators" door. Probably one of the most intimidating things I have ever done! But it was such a neat experience, I had no idea what we were going to say or where to start but as we walked in and sat down thoughts just started filling my head and we were able to have a great.. ha ha probably not really, but it was a decant lesson.   I know that those thoughts were from the spirit guiding me in what to do and say. Sister Elkington and I were made Sister Training Leaders tonight!( ha ha )we really have no idea what that means and they haven't given us much direction for it so I guess we will learn as we go!
It's actually been kind of interesting because usually there are missionaries in your district who have been here for a week or so to kind of show you how things work but we don't so everyone is just learning as they go!   Guess what I got to see Sister Peterson yesterday! It was so good to see her, I hope that I can see her again and maybe get a picture. I also so Elder Smoot  (Kyle Smoot, Kholer's cousin.)  It was fun to see another person from Box Elder!

Sister Peterson and Sister Hunter (Go Box Elder!!!!!)

Like I said I don't have much time so I have to go now Hope to hear from you soon, keep me updated on life and how much Shawn is annoying you guys (ha ha)
Love you guys and miss you! Tell everybody else I love them and miss them too! But don't worry I'm loving it so much!!!

So as for the Sister Training Leader thing we have no idea ha ha we read the handbook but it was confusing ;basically I think we are just supposed make sure the sister are doing what they are supposed to and that all is well (ha ha) but there are only two other sisters Sister Woods (Lindsay) and Sister Cosgrove who are in our room with us so ya I guess we'll find out more at our meetings tomorrow.

Sister Wood and I totally match!!!!!

We get to go to the temple today and I’m super excited!!!!!
So we have to get up at 6:30 and so far it’s been fine. The first night we didn't quite get to bed on time though with unpacking and everything and then the next night I just laid awake for a while so yesterday seemed really long especially during our personal and companion study but it really is so good!   We have an hour to get ready so as long as I shower at night its fine getting ready.  The foods alright I like breakfast cause they have oatmeal ha ha so thanks for teaching me to like that. They have really good salads that I try to eat instead of some the other stuff.

Love Going To The Temple!!!!!

Sister Elkington is from Idaho

Sister Elkington and I had a really neat experience the other night I just wanted to share. We were preparing a lesson for our investigator Chris (who is really one of our teachers). We started with a prayer and were trying
to figure out what we needed to teach him. Earlier we had felt like we should talk about the Book of Mormon because he had told us that it is hard for him to understand. We were thinking about what story we should have him read so we both sat there in silence and just thought. The story of Alma the younger came to my head and has it did Sister Elkington looked at me and said are you thinking about Alma the younger? It was so neat!!!!   We both just knew that that was what we needed to teach him!! It was a really neat experience!!

A typical day at the MTC

Yesterday Sam Anderson (Clark and Susan Andersons son the one just older than Zach) was working with this orientation thing so it was fun to see someone from home but they were going to be putting on this little play about mission work in the field and two of the ladies that were supposed to be in it couldn't come so he had Sister Elkington and I do it. Ha ha really funny like ten minutes before it started he pulls us out and explains to us what we need to do and then we did it! It was fun and how many of the missionaries can say that they actually got to be in the play rather than just watch!
  Love,
                                                                                      Sister Hunter

My District

                                                                             March 8, 2014

I really am having some incredible experiences here in the MTC. The other night my companion and I were teaching a lesson to our TRC investigator (Training Resource Center) and she asked why god would take away the gospel from his children during the apostasy and then just bring it back later. Sister Elkington was trying to explain it to here but it wasn't really going anyway. The whole time I was like well I don’t really know how to explain this to her but I felt prompted to say something. I was nervous because I wasn't really sure what I was going to say but as I started talking to her I knew exactly what I needed to say. I explained to her to think of it like this. I said "when your children are miss behaving and not sharing with each other well what do you do?" she said she takes the toy away. I said "and when they start behaving again and can handle themselves with the toy you give it back right? I explained to her that that’s what our heavenly father did with us and the restoration of the gospel. it really helped her to understand it. It was a really cool experience for me because they tell us all the time that heavenly father and the spirit will guide us in what to say and it is so true!! My testimony was strengthened so much by this experience

Love you and miss you can't wait to talk to you on Tuesday!!!

                    Last Night In The MTC

                                                                                      March 10, 2014
  Hi Parents!!!
Don't worry I have permission to be emailing you! So tomorrow I should be calling you guys around 6ish so just be ready and have your phone ready!!!  I'm thinking that I will call dads phone so please be listening for it because every time I call out it wastes 150 minutes of my 500, and yes 500 is a lot but not if i have to call three times before you answer.   Also just so you know i have been told that there are phones in the Denver airport that you can use for free so if i have time i'll try to give you a call when we get there, but its only a 45 minute layover so I don't know if I will have time. I think we will be getting to Denver around 9:00 9:15 so be waiting then too but if I don't call that it will be because I didn't have time. I love you guys so so much and I can't wait to talk to you!
Oh but quick little story we had our last lesson with our investigator Chris today (he's really our teacher Brother Blair) but it was such a great lesson and he even committed to be baptized! ha ha I know it's all pretend but it was such a great experience and a really neat way to end our last day here!
Love ya,
Your Missionary Sister Hunter
