Downtown Madison

Hello family and friends!!
I cant believe its already P-Day again this week has flown by! So we had our lesson with Jamal and we both thought it went really well. We taught him the restoration and he seemed to really like it. He even asked us when and where our church was so that he could come, but then he never showed. And we found out we have to give him to the Campus Elders to teach because he is over 20 and single so hopefully they are able to meet with him because he really seems like he's ready for this in his life.

Latoya our pregnant investigator, who is due tomorrow, came to the women's conference on Saturday and she came to church on Sunday!! This was a huge step for her that she actually came and she really seemed to like it! We want her to come watch conference this weekend but she will probably end up having her baby, but we are going to work really hard to get her to church again as soon as possible! It's been so neat though to see how much she has changed even just since I got here. My first lesson with her was rough, she wouldn't open up to us at all and it was just really hard to get to know who she was so that she would feel more comfortable with us. She has really started to open up to us more and our lessons go so much better now. It was so fun to listen to her on Sunday agreeing with everything that was being said in the lessons! We have a lesson with her tomorrow (if she doesn't have her baby) and we are hoping to set her baptism date!

Our investigator Eric is still working on quitting smoking and drinking coffee... not a whole lot of progress yet but we know that he can do it! He's still going to addiction recovery which has helped a lot though. We keep trying to get him to get rid of his coffee maker because he says he thinks it would be easier to quit smoking if he stopped drinking coffee.. but he wont get rid of it. We just keep praying that he will be able to find the strength he needs to get rid of it and take that next step towards quitting smoking.

Madison Skyline at Night

Kinda funny story there is this lady named Rita that we go and visit. She's from Russia and is super funny, even though I cant understand most of the stuff she is saying... but the other day we knocked on her door and she answered it not wearing any pants! She was on the phone with someone and just said to come back in 30 min... didn't even phase her one bit that she answered the door wearing absolutely nothing on her bottom half... definitely and interesting experience.. ha ha good ol' Madison!

The women's conference on Saturday was so good!! I love that they are combining it now and letting girls 8 years and older come! I really loved the message of how we are all sisters and that there is an unbreakable bond between us, we take care of each other and watch out for each other and that we just truly need each other. I loved how they talked about the way that Mary and Elizabeth supported one another. They are such a great example for us women in the church, I think that it is so important for us to have relationships with all women in the church, not just the ones in our age group. We all have things that we can offer to each other, to strengthen and uplift one another. Elder Erying's talk was really great also! one thing that really stuck out to me was that only a few of Heavenly Fathers children were chosen to  have the opportunity to make and keep covenants here on earth! I can't believe how blessed I am to be one of those few chosen to make those sacred covenants while on earth!!
Well I hope that you all are as excited as I am to watch General Conference this weekend and if you aren't you better start being!! I can't wait to hear the words of our prophets I know that it is going to be so great!!!! I love you all and miss you!!!
Love,
Sister Hunter
