What a great week!
Hi Family!!
This week has been such an incredible week. We
had Zone Training on Tuesday and General Conference this weekend!
Sister Hunter and Sister Shelton at Zone Training |
At
Zone Training they focused a lot on how important Family History is. It made me
feel somewhat guilty because I have never really sat down and done much with it
but it really is so important!! There are so many people that lived before us
who need to have their work done for them. Family history goes hand in hand
with missionary work. Sister Shelton and I are going to the Family History
center this next week and I am so excited to see how much work we can get done!

Work for our Ancestors |
We found a couple of new investigators this week and we are really excited to meet with them this week. I guess i'll have more about that next week! We had a lesson with Latoya this week and I was really scared that she would end up going into labor while we were there.. but she didn't! She was even able to come watch conference with us on Sunday and she said that she really liked it! She should be having her baby this week and then we will be working to get a baptismal date for her! It's been so neat to see how far she's come even just since I got here.

General Conference |
General Conference of course was amazing! So
many of the talks were focused on missionary work it just made me realize even
more how important this work is! There are so many people who need to this
message in their lives and are ready to receive it, we just need to be willing
to share it! I really loved that M. Russell Ballard challenged those who aren't
serving a mission to still use Preach My Gospel in their daily lives, to
read, study, and ponder it. Preach My Gospel really is such a great thing for
us to take advantage of in our lives and I hope that you accept that challenge
and find ways to incorporate it into your daily lives!
I also really liked what
Neil L. Andersen said about how the whirl winds in our youth will prepare us
for the storms of the future and how this gospel is our safety and the rock
that we build our foundation upon. I thought that it went well with what
Uchtdorf said about being grateful in our circumstances. Something I have
learned in my life is that there will always be trials. It seems sometimes as
one ends another one comes. It can be hard to be grateful for our
circumstances when they aren't what we'd like them to be but I think it is
so important to find gratitude always thank our Heavenly Father. I know in my
life as I've looked back on the different trials I've faced I've learned
something from each of them and I’m so grateful for that, but I also know I
probably did not have so much gratitude when I was going through it. This is
something that I’m going to try very hard to be better at! There were so many
great messages from conference. One last message that I really loved was
Bednar's about our spiritual loads. Is the load that we are carrying providing
spiritual traction so that we can make it back to our Heavenly Father? I hope
you all take the time to read the talks again when they come out in the Ensign!
Love you all!
