Lake Winnebago |
New Area
9/2/14
Hello Everybody!
 |
Downtown Menasha |
This week was kind of
crazy with it being Transfers but it's been great! My new area is actually
pretty big because it’s the only YSA branch in the area. We mostly cover
Appleton, Neenah, Menasha (which is where we actually live) and Oshkosh.

Technically Green Bay and places over
that way are in our area but we can't ever go there because it’s too far away.
I'm in a car area now which is weird to get used to but it’s good. You can't
talk to nearly as many people as you do on bus but we get a lot more done
during the day. It’s so crazy to me how much you can fit in a day when it
doesn't take you an hour to get there on bus!

Oh there are a ton of
paper mills around here so it always smells like sulfur which is kind of rough
but we are right by lake Winnebago and it so gorgeous so that makes up for the
smell!

Anyways my new companions name is Sister Peel, she is from Mt. Pleasant
Utah and she is super nice and sweet. We get a long really well and I'm really
excited to be working with her! The YSA branch is awesome and the members are
really great! I love how involved in the work the people are here especially
the branch president. He makes sure he knows every one of our investigators and
is really involved in helping them gain testimonies. It's just really different
because the bishop in my last ward was not very involved...So we get to go to
FHE each week and sports night each Friday. Its super fun and a great
way to meet people because the members bring their friends! Basically I just
love it and I'm so excited to be serving with her

Our most promising
investigator's name is Adam. He loves the branch, loves learning, and really
wants to be baptized. He struggles understanding the Book of Mormon so we've
been trying to help him with that. He's understanding a ton better than he used
to now and he retains what we teach him really well which is a huge answer to
prayers! We set a baptism date for October 18 and he is really excited about
it. He's been telling everyone in the branch that in October he's going to
finally be baptized! We are really excited for him and just hope and pray that
he continues to understand!
I know that our
Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers! I know that when we put our
faith and trust in him we can expect to see miracles happen! I love you all and
miss you tons! Know that you’re in my prayers!
Love your missionary,
Sister Kendra Hunter
