TORNADOES AND BUSES

 ANOTHER WEEK IN MADISON
                                                      June 23, 2014

Hi Family!!

Its been a crazy week here in Madison! It has started to get really humid and there's been lots of storms. Monday night there was a pretty bad storm I guess... ha I thought it was cool but then we received a text that said there was a tornado warning and we needed to get to the basement and then right after that the tornado sirens went off! I felt really bad because my companion gets really bad anxiety when it comes to weather so she was getting really worried and I just kept telling her it's just a thunder storm we'll be fine... turns out thunder storms are a little different out here than they are back home, but no worries we're alive and well, we just got soaked a couple of times while we've been out that's all!

This week has been incredible and we've seen so many miracles! We made it a goal to hand out 20 Book of Mormons this week and to help us reach that goal we tried to always have a Book of Mormon in our hand. The first part of the week was kind of rough and we weren't handing out very many Book of Mormons but we just continued to work hard and talk with everyone we met. By the end of the week we were able to hand out 21 open copies of the Book of Mormon! The Lord truly blessed us for our efforts and we were able to clearly see that this week! We got 6 new investigators this week and we are really looking forward to meeting with them this week!

We have one investigator in particular who we are really excited about! His name is Paris and he was actually a bus driver for one of the bus's we took on Friday. It's kind of funny cause the whole reason i started talking to him was because Sister Brewster wanted to know if the bus drivers ever ride the bus themselves so I went up and asked him (the answer was yes incase you were wondering) and he started asking me about my name tag and what we do as missionaries! So while he drove the bus,I was able to have a quick lesson with him and give him a Book of Mormon before we got off, but sadly we didn't have time to get his information. The next night we received a text from him thanking us for saying a prayer with him, he said it really helped and that he would be coming to church on Sunday! He totally came to church yesterday and it was so great! He seems so prepared and has such a desire to learn and come closer to Jesus Christ! We can't wait to meet with him again on Wednesday!

We have another new investigator who's name is Lexi. It was really cool cause she told us about how she had a dream the other night that has made her feel like she need to quit smoking and drinking. She said that she really wants to change her life around! We opened the Book of Mormon and read a scripture with her and she actually asked us if she could have it! Both of these experiences have really strengthened my testimony! I know that there are people here in Madison who are ready to hear this message and that as we work hard the Lord truly will help us find them!

We had a really good lesson with Nichole this week as well. Sadly she will not be making her baptism date for this Saturday, but we did our whole lesson on the recognizing the spirit activity in Preach my Gospel and she realized that she has felt the spirit in many different ways she's just not recognizing it at that moment! We are obviously very excited that she is starting to recognize that and we just continue to hope and pray that she will start to recognize her answer that this gospel is true!

I love you all and hope that you're doing good! This work is incredible and I absolutely love being a part of it!!

Love your missionary,
Sister Kendra Hunter
Neither rain, thunder, or tornado keep these Sisters from their work!
